ZACHARY ZERBE

REAL ESTATE AGENT

LANDMARK COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE

What do you do in your role? Provide commercial real estate services to local, regional, and national companies.

How did you get involved in real estate? I have been around commercial real estate my entire life. My parents owned Indian Hills shopping center in the ’80’s and ’90’s. My sister and I were their landscaping crew, and we picked up trash in the parking lot. I may not have always viewed CRE as the career path for me, but after working in other industries, it became clearer my goals aligned with what real estate provided. The conversation that ultimately led me to Landmark was initially with Ken Saville. Ken’s son, Brad Saville, was growing his brokerage and property management business. Met with Brad in January 2016, he offered me an opportunity to work on both teams. Joined them in February 2016.

Tell us about a mentor who got you started on this path and why they’re important to you. I owe my interest in commercial real estate to my parents, Don and Janice Zerbe. They have been involved in real estate since I was a child. They were in the aircraft industry as their main focus, but CRE always been a component of their life. They taught me business ethics, and what it takes to achieve your goals.

Best advice someone gave you early in your career? Success doesn’t come to those who wait. Take initiative, be persistent, success will follow.

Will this be your profession long-term and why? Absolutely. I have the opportunity to sell Wichita. Showcase the positives our city provides. Every day I get to talk with business owners and operators about how to solve their real estate needs.

Interview and feature from the Wichita Business Journal.
