Three dormant properties at Kellogg, Rock sell to Wichita developer

A Wichita developer, Christian Ablah, has closed on the purchase of three properties that have been largely dormant for years. These properties include the former Loan Smart building at 8814 E Kellogg Drive – what used to be Taco Grande – and two vacant properties surrounding it.

Scott Harper of Landmark Commercial Real Estate represented Wichita Towers LLC, the seller, on the transaction.

Loan Smart, which has two other Wichita locations, had operated in the 1,500 square-foot building for about 15 years after the Taco Grande closed.

The transaction also included the property east of there, where a McDonald’s restaurant once stood, and a sliver of land that fronts Kellogg Drive. The three properties total almost an acre in high-traffic area of Wichita.

There’s been some new commercial activity in the Eastgate Shopping Center on the south side of Kellogg – many of those deals handled by both Ablah and his Classic Real Estate and Landmark Commercial Real Estate.

A new Aldi location opened last year in a portion of the former Toys R Us space, and Five Below, Dollar Tree and Shoe Carnival are all expected to open stores in the plaza.
