New sports bar planned for Kellogg and Seneca

Wichita lost its only Hooters restaurant earlier this year, but it might soon get a sports bar with a similar concept.

Not many are talking about it yet, but it appears that a Tight Ends Sports Bar & Grill location could be going up at Kellogg and Seneca, just west of downtown Wichita.

Dirt work has started at a site at the northeast corner of Kellogg and Seneca for a what looks to be a rather substantial mixed-use development. Tight Ends has a couple of locations in Texas.

A person familiar with the plans for the development tells the WBJ that it could include two restaurants, with one being Tight Ends. For an idea of the type of establishment Tight Ends is, just visit the Facebook page for its Plano, Texas, location.

Let’s just say it’s not a football-themed establishment.

Elysia Rizo of Model Mayhem is involved in the development and has put out some feelers for hiring purposes. Some in the Delano District, however, are not happy about a business with scantily clad staff entering the Delano marketplace.

In fact, a petition against the establishment has been making the rounds in the district.

Signage at the development site says Landmark Commercial Real Estate is leasing retail space there. Additional signage mentions living units as part of the development.

We’ll have more to report on this development later this week.
