Mattress Firm has signed a lease to occupy 4,732 square feet in a strip center near 29th Street North and Maize Road.

Mattress Firm is opening a second location on North Maize Road.

The company has signed a lease to occupy 4,732 square feet in a strip center near 29th Street North and Maize Road.

Mattress Firm (NASDAQ: MFRM) is taking the remainder of the space in the 6,832-square-foot center at 2768 N. Maize that houses Dickey’s Barbecue Pit.

Dickey’s and Mattress Firm will be the only two tenants in that strip center.

SBA Construction Co. has pulled a $73,000 permit for the build-out of the Mattress Firm space. The business is expected to open in March. SBA also built the shell of the building.

Brad Saville, with Landmark Commercial Real Estate was involved with the deal along with Christian Ablah, of Classic Real Estate.

Patrick Willett, with Pace Properties in St. Louis, represented Mattress Firm.

The new location is just up the street from a Mattress Firm site at 2441 North Maize Rd.

The company confirmed it also has plans to open at 438 S. Rock Road and in Hutchinson. A Wichita Eagle report also indicated the company has plans to open a store at 21st and Rock.

Mattress Firm already has seven Wichita stores.
