European Wax Center to open at the Waterfront

Another new business is going to open at the Waterfront in late August or early September.

European Wax Center is taking the 1,400 square feet where Metro Grill used to be next toFirebirds Wood Fired Grill.

The franchise offers a variety of waxing services for men and women.

There will be six private rooms at the Waterfront site.

A group of Kansas City and Wichita residents is opening the business. The group also already has locations in Leawood, Kansas City, Mo., and Prairie Village.

“We’re going to for sure do three or four more in the Kansas City area,” says Sara Gans of Sara Gans Interiors.

Gans oversees the interior design and building process for the centers, but she also does interior design work separate from the center.

“I’m still in business,” says Gans, who wants to reassure clients.

Gans says European Wax Center is known for what it calls a four-step wax hair removal comfort system that cleanses and protects skin before waxing and exfoliating it. She says there’s less discomfort with the system than other methods.

Gans says it’s important to note that European Wax Center does not reuse its wax.

Customers can make appointments or walk in to be treated. They can buy a pass for unlimited services or a prepaid wax pass to lock in a price.

Gans says there’s a referral system where customers receive $5 off services for each person they refer to the business.

Don Piros of Landmark Commercial Real Estate handled the deal.

Gans says a second Wichita European Wax Center is a possibility for the west side, but probably not for about a year.

Look for more information on the business closer to the time it opens late this summer.
