Eric Fisher is taking a nontraditional approach for his new downtown salon

On Saturday, Eric Fisher will open his fourth salon in the Spaghetti Works District, and it’ll be a little different than all his others.

In addition to what Fisher calls a modern look, the salon will offer a lot of streamlined services.

“We’re trying to abridge some things for the downtown crowd to get them in, get them out,” Fisher says.

The salon is next to Martin Pringle along Douglas Avenue. HomeGrown is on the west side of the building and opens onto Naftzger Park, which also is being redeveloped.

Fisher’s streamlined services will include mini facials that customers can have over their lunch hours.

There will be an array of other services as well.

“The cool thing about this is that we’re going to have an eyelash bar,” Fisher says.

There will be facial waxing, too.

On Thursdays, there will be something of a beauty happy hour with $10 blow drys and a lot of other services on sale.

“It’ll just help the public get a little more aware of what we do,” Fisher says.

Also, he says, “It’s a great retail venue with some nice, unusual products.”

That includes CBD oil, hair and skin care products and coffee from Espresso To Go Go.

The salon also is going to have some nontraditional hours to appeal to downtowners.

It will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

With extended and Sunday hours, Fisher says, “It’s a good opportunity for people to come in.”

Stylists from any of Fisher’s other salons also will be able to pop into this one to work when they want as well.

“It’s kind of a neat concept,” Fisher says.

His Prosper U business training program operates nearby on Commerce Street, and Fisher says all of the stylists at this salon have been through the program.

“We’ve kind of turned it into the first Prosper U branded salon.”

Fisher says this salon also is going to have an especially streamlined front desk, which will be more of a podium. If customers have the salon’s app, they’ll automatically be checked in when they walk through the door.

Though the salon opens Saturday, Fisher is planning a grand opening in April.

“It’s a beautiful salon,” he says. “The concept’s gorgeous.”
