Doug Day has secured the first of what is expected to be nine Dunkin’ Donuts locations he plans to open in coming years.

Day, who is the local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee along with his oldest son Dan Day, has begun the process of converting the former Taco Bueno restaurant site at 333 S. West Street into his first Dunkin’ Donuts location.

Doug Day says he liked the location because it is in a high-traffic area along the West Street corridor. The 2,800-square-foot store is next to Star Lumber & Supply near Maple and West.

Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee plans nine Wichita locations

Day expects to have his first Dunkin’ Donuts open before the end of the year.
Preliminary site work has already started.

Day says the store will employ 75 people to start, all new hires.

Day is working with Landmark Commercial Real Estate to help him identify his Wichita locations.
The South West Street site had been listed through Landmark for about two years.

After this store opens, Day will shift his focus to east Wichita, where he is working to secure a site.

Look for an announcement on where Day’s second Dunkin’ Donuts will be located by the end of the year.

Day says his goal is to open a store or two a year. He is planning seven Wichita stores total and two others in smaller cities in this area. He lists Hutchinson as a possibility.
