A destination development project in Goddard is ramping up. And construction on the first phase is expected to start in the coming weeks.

Stevens-Wisconsin Construction Corp. has pulled four commercial building permits valued at more than $27.8 million to build a Crowne Plaza Hotel, aquatics and wellness center and two accessory buildings.

These are the first pieces of a multifaceted development that is planned for an area west of Goddard’s Walmart Supercenter.

SLN Manager Inc., a team of Wisconsin developers, is behind the project. Many of the specifics around the project were detailed in March.

The four-story hotel will be 88,000 square feet and include 141 rooms, a restaurant and sports bar, a business center and an indoor pool and fitness center.

The 1,250-seat aquatic and wellness center will have four pools, including a 25-meter training pool, a 25-meter dive pool and a therapy pool.

The center also will have 4,500 square feet of training rooms available for multiple uses.

Plans also call for a 17,000-square-foot family entertainment center equipped with bowling lanes, laser tag, a laser maze, an arcade, fitness center and sports bar.

The developers also plan an outdoor baseball complex, including four lighted baseball and softball diamonds. Four batting cages also will be included.
