09 Jul Soon, Wichita’s west side will have fast access to fried chicken, gator and shrimp
The sign went up on Friday, ending the mystery about where Da Cajun Shak owners would put their west-side restaurant, a sister-concept that will focus on chicken.
Da Chicken Shak & More is under construction now at 2428 W. 13th Street, a space that previously held WOW Cakes and was once home to Bubba’s Nekked BBQ. It’s a standalone building across the street from the strip center that holds The Copper Oven and Indian Hills Ace Hardware.
Owner Chris Granger said the restaurant should be ready to open by early to mid-August.
The menu also will include fried catfish.
The restaurant is owned by Granger’s wife, Patty, and son Tim, who will continue running Da Cajun Shak. Chris Granger’s middle son, Billy Granger, will run Da Chicken Shak & More.
The inside of the new space will seat 25 to 30 people and will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
I’ll let you know when it’s’ ready to open.
