LANDMARK COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE rolls out new space for its team’s work and fun

An idea born two years ago, spurred by the desire to build connection, has led to the opening of a new space that the Landmark Commercial Real Estate team can utilize for a variety of purposes — from meetings to parties and more.

And Landmark, one of the largest commercial real estate brokerages in Wichita, did not have to go far to find it.The Landmark Lounge is located at 142 N. Emporia Ave., next door to the firm’s downtown headquarters.

“When we started working on the project in mid-2020, we were in the heart of Covid and looking for new ways to stay connected,” Brad Saville, Landmark’s founder and CEO, said in an email. “This was one contributing objective when creating a space for parties, celebrations, holidays and broker networking, charity and educational events.”

Saville said the team started having events at the location late in the summer and that the “private space is now used nearly daily for property management and agent meetings and is truly the best casual place to meet that is easily accessible to our office at 156 N. Emporia.”

The 6,000 square-foot-building, acquired in November 2020, has 3,000 square feet dedicated to the lounge and a training/conference room, while Saville’s Iron Horse Development occupies the upstairs.

The lounge features multiple games — including a pool table, foosball, video games, darts and a poker table — as well as eight TVs, a bar area and what Saville calls “a great sound system.”

Jennifer Rygg with Rygg Design worked with Landmark on the furniture and game space planning.

Landmark president Josh Turner, who joined the firm in August, said the new space is one way Landmark can give back to its agents and employees.

“We put a lot of emphasis on having a great culture,” Turner said in a statement. “The Landmark Lounge is just on of the many things that Landmark does to give our agents and staff an atmosphere where they want to come to work each day. The technology in the lounge is state of the art. We value our people and the lounge is just an example of that.”
