A new strip center in the Waterfront Plaza development near 13th Street North and Webb Road is 80 percent pre-leased.

Landmark Commercial Real Estate is the leasing agent for that property.

The 51,273 square feet of commercial space is part of a new development on the northwest corner of 13th and Webb — across from the original Waterwalk development — that will feature a Whole Foods Market as the anchor tenant. The strip center portion of that development is north of where Whole Foods will open Sept. 3.

Brad Saville, Landmark’s president, says three more leases are being finalized in that development. Look for specific announcements regarding those tenants in the near future.

He says the pending presence of Whole Foods has helped generate additional interest in the Waterfront Plaza.

Those tenants will join Whole Foods and In the Bag Cleaners as tenants in the Waterfront Plaza strip center. In the Bag announced last month that it had signed a lease for 1,342 square feet. In the Bag worked with developer Johnny Stevens and Landmark broker Don Piros on the lease. That store is expected to open in September.

Equity Bank also is building a branch in the Waterfront Plaza, though that site is separate from the strip center that is connected to the Whole Foods store.

Clark Investment Group is the developer for Waterfront Plaza.

Another phase of development in the Waterfront Plaza is in the design phase and is expected to start soon, Saville says. That piece will include 14,000 square feet of space and a 4,900-square-foot pad site.
